Senior Engineer (Pressure Systems ) Ireland
Job Summary
Zurich Insurance Company Ltd is seeking a Senior Engineer to support our pressure systems activities. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, this key position plays an important role in supporting the ZEIS Management Team with designated technical and governance responsibilities.
This hybrid role combines management and field responsibilities, with approximately two days per week acting as Technical Manager and three days per week as Engineer Surveyor.
This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
Your Role
As a Senior Engineer (Pressure systems) your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
- Assist in internal projects where allocated
- Assist and provide the Management Team with specialist advice and knowledge where required
- Auditing of Engineer Surveyors and internal systems to ensure compliance
- Auditing Reports through the QA process
- Prepare and revise Inspection Services Quality and Technical documentation, as directed by Management Team.
- Prepare reports, bulletins and guidance to ensure that the appropriate standards are being maintained Identification of new and revised relevant legislation, Codes and Standards
- Preparation and presentation of technical training courses
- Preparation and presentation of client seminars
- Investigate areas for new business opportunities and fee earning work
- Implement investigations of complaints including potential professional indemnity claims
- Represent ZEIS on technical committees at SAFed and other external bodies as required
Your Skills & Experience
- Incorporated Engineer an advantage but not a necessity. Minimum of HNC in a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years appropriate relevant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of statutory inspection services. Good organisational, managerial and interpersonal skills.
- Good presentation, team working, work management and project management skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO17020
Additional Information
Primary work location is Ireland based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
